Due to being inundated with automated spam registrations, I've temporarily disabled user registration, while I decide what to do with this site. I haven't really had time to follow through on most of the plans I originall had for it, and if I do decide to continue it in some form, I'll probably switch it over the Drupal rather than Joomla, since I never really use Joomla any more. In the meantime, if anyone wants to join, just e-mail me via the contact form. If you want to join and are actually interested in helping out with the site or otherwise helping make things happen, so much the better! |

The Alternative Business Network is a business networking organization with a difference, geared toward countercultural entrepreneurs. When the mainstream business world seems like a strange and foreign place, why not network with kindred spirits? AltBiz is still in its infancy -- we're putting together the framework for the site (namely, this spiffy CMS), and have begun to put some content into it -- answering some FAQs, adding some relvant news feeds and links, and so on. But to really take off, it needs to become a community. It needs, in other words, YOU. We're going to be adding a lot of new features soon designed to make it easier for the site to be interactive, including a set of discussion forums, and once we manage to build up a sense of community online, we can then start to move in the direction of setting up some offline, real-world events -- probably in Toronto to start with, as that's where we're based, but we're very much open to hearing from people elsewhere who'd like to host AltBiz events in their own communiities. So to get things started, please register and create a profile for yourself. You'll be able to add a lot more info to it soon, but getting registered is the first step. It's free, and only takes about two minutes. |
