The Alternative Business Network is a business networking organization with a difference, geared toward countercultural entrepreneurs. When the mainstream business world seems like a strange and foreign place, why not network with kindred spirits?

AltBiz is still in its infancy -- we're putting together the framework for the site (namely, this spiffy CMS), and have begun to put some content into it -- answering some FAQs, adding some relvant news feeds and links, and so on. But to really take off, it needs to become a community. It needs, in other words, YOU.

We're going to be adding a lot of new features soon designed to make it easier for the site to be interactive, including  a set of discussion forums, and once we manage to build up a sense of community online, we can then start to move in the direction of setting up some offline, real-world events -- probably in Toronto to start with, as that's where we're based, but we're very much open to hearing from people elsewhere who'd like to host AltBiz events in their own communiities.
